Superstar Writing!

Yesterday for writing the Zebras and Meerkats looked at some beautiful pictures of the night sky. We came up with lots of words to describe what we could see and then each wrote a sentence using some of our amazing words. Check it out!

Cultural Assembly

Two weeks ago we had a Cultural Assembly where we got to appreciate all the different cultures represented in our school. We were really excited to see some of our friends from Ruru carry their countries' flags during the assembly. Afterwards we got to eat some delicious food from lots of these different countries. It was a really amazing day! A big thank you to all of the parents and family members who came to support this event. Here are a couple of pictures of some of our special outfits from that day!

Showing our HEART values!

At the end of Term One we decided to have a discussion about our HEART values and how we can show them at school during our learning time and in the playground.

All of the children came up with some wonderful ideas so we took some photos of our value RESPECT in action!

We can be respectful by 'Giving 5'

We can be respectful by putting rubbish in the bin

We can be respectful by waiting for our turn on the playground

We can be respectful by holding the door open for others

It is respectful and kind to say hello to each other!

Cross Country

Last Friday we had our first Wigram Primary School Cross Country. Today we did some talking and writing about our favourite parts of the day. Check it out!

Summer Fun at the School Pool

At the beginning of the term when it was summer, we loved going swimming in the school pool. First we had to learn about keeping safe around and in the pool. We loved swimming because we learnt to do new things in the water. Some of us learnt to put their head under the water and blow bubbles. Some learnt to float like a star fish and others learnt to swim using their arms and legs. Sometimes Miss Graham, Miss Cruz and Nina went swimming too. Swimming in the school pool was amazing and awesome and fun!

Welcome to our Ruru Blog!

Welcome to the Ruru space with Mrs Jude Ingram, Miss Aimee Cruz, Miss Taylor Graham, Mrs Jacinda Clements and Miss Nikki Grimwood.

We have had a really interesting and exciting term of learning. We have been learning about each other and the things we like to do. We have also been learning about Wigram Primary School, our learning space name and our new HEART values.

We have been brainstorming with the children about what our highlights for Term 1 have been and they are excited to share their ideas and learning with you.

This blog is a great way for you to be involved in your child's learning and see what happens in our learning space. We look forward to sharing some of your comments and responses with the children.
